Teeth-Friendly Summer Treats for Kids

Summer is in full swing! From family vacations to pool parties, there’s loads of fun still to be had before school starts. There’s something about being on a break that makes adults and children alike want to dig into all the treats (we all know that craving!). While we would never tell you to cut out all the snacks you love, we would like to offer up some more dental-friendly summer treat options that kids will still love, and dentists approve.

Ah, there’s nothing like a refreshing beverage to quench your thirst during a hot summer day. Instead of sugary sodas or milkshakes, however, why not go for a delicious smoothie? With a homemade smoothie, you can pack all the nutritious ingredients together like fruits, nuts, and honey in one yummy package.

Yogurt Pops

Popsicles are a summertime classic, but many of them also happen to be loaded with sugar, which isn’t the best for tooth health. A healthier alternative would be a yogurt popsicle. They still offer the fun of eating an icy treat but they’re made with Greek yogurt, fruit, and honey so you know they’re loaded with nutrients rather than artificial ingredients.

Fruit Salad

Kids love to eat things that look as fun as they taste. You can whip up a fruit salad with all of your child’s favorites and it’ll look like a rainbow in a bowl. Who wouldn’t want to dig into that? Plus, all the water in the fruit will be extra hydrating. It’s a much more smile-friendly choice than a big dish of candy!
